Non-fiction versus fiction is something you have been learning about for a very long time. Now as fifth graders you will be learning about genre. There are several types in the area of fiction and one of them is historical fiction. In historical fiction true historical facts are combined with both famous people and some made up information and characters. The two books at the bottom of this blog are examples of historical fiction. The book by Jean Fritz is an example of a non-fiction history book.
Today you will be creating some historical fiction. Write in first person (I) please as either a boy or girl on the wharf where the Plymouth Rock was once located. Describe what it was like. Write at least one or two paragraphs.
